Overview

2026 Summer College Internship Program for Marketing - Harbor Foods Group

The Marketing Intern provides support to the Marketing department (11 team members covering design, communications, digital, brand management and strategy work). The Intern will focus on digital asset organization, marketing process documentation, customer-facing materials, and cross-functional coordination. This role offers hands-on exposure to a professional marketing environment while contributing to projects that improve efficiency, consistency, and accessibility of marketing resources.  **Harbor Internships are onsite positions in Lacey, WA for students with existing residence in the south Puget Sound region, WA**

 Education and Experience:

  • Current junior or senior standing in Marketing, Communications, or a directly related field.

Compensation:  $20/hour

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are representative of the position but are not all-inclusive.

 

Digital Asset Management (DAM)

  • Support organization and ongoing maintenance of the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
  • Assist with documenting and applying protocols and conventions for adding photos to the DAM, including file naming, metadata standards, tagging, and version control.
  • Support photo cleanup efforts by organizing existing assets and applying standardized labels and tags in collaboration with internal teams.

 

Marketing Resource and Collateral Center (MRACC)

  • Assist in documenting marketing protocols and internal processes related to MRACC
  • Support updates and content adjustments for marketing-related web pages, including Harbor Foodservice (HFS) content.
  • Assist with documenting and organizing processes for requesting, tracking, and managing Harbor-branded merchandise such as tents and other promotional assets.

 

General Marketing Support

  • Support social media and communications efforts through content organization and basic content creation.
  • Assist with the preparation of marketing materials, including presentations, newsletters, and promotional documents.
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the Marketing department.
  • Perform other marketing-related duties as assigned.

 

General Internship

  • Participate in informational interviews with department heads and executives. 
  • Develop a group project for presentation to executive team.
  • Experience hands on day in the life with departments outside the office (Sales, Transportation, Operations).
  • Receive mentorship with Internship Leaders to cover various business topics related to career development, networking, interview best practices, AI, and more. 

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a professional office setting.

All final candidates will need to successfully pass a drug and felony background screen at time of offer.
